CIVILIAN MEMBERSHIP ONLINE FORM

The Army & Navy Club is delighted to offer, each year, a restricted number of highly sought after places which are made available to civilians under the 'Non Military Applicant's Scheme'.

Civilian members are treated, under the terms of the Club Rules, in the same way as any other member of the Club and so, for those who have not had a military background but who appreciate the ethos and traditions associated with the Armed forces there is still a splendid opportunity to enjoy the benefits of membership of the 'Rag'.

Fundamental Qualifications:

All prospective candidates for Membership of the Club must be over the age of eighteen at the time of application.

Any applicant for Membership who has been:

Dismissed the Service following a Court Martial.
Adjudged bankrupt, including entering into an Individual Voluntary Arrangement with his or her creditors.
Convicted of a criminal offence (excluding minor motoring offences).

must, for other than ‘spent’ convictions, at the time an application is submitted advise the Membership Committee which may, at its discretion and exceptionally, accept the application.

A joining fee equivalent to one year's subscription will be levied upon an offer of membership being made

Family Package (husband/wife or civil partners and their children 18-21)	£667.00

IF YOU WOULD ALSO LIKE YOUR FAMILY TO ENJOY THE BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP AS WELL The Family package is offered so that all members of the package may make use of the facilities of the Army & Navy Club and applies to a husband and wife or civil partners and any of their children between the ages of 18-21. In such cases, please ensure that the supplementary pages providing details of the spouse/civil partner and qualifying children are completed.

An existing member who enjoys sole membership may transfer to the Family package subject to the supplementary forms being completed should other qualifying family members wish to make independent use of the Club.

All those accepted into the Family Package are subject to the Rules of the Club

The application process and Payment of Subscription

All applicants, applying under the terms of the Non Military Applicants’ Scheme are required to obtain the support of two current Full Members of the Club to act as Proposer and Seconder to their application.

All applications should include a copy of the candidate’s CV and be accompanied by letter of personal recommendation from both the Proposer and Seconder.

The initial phase of the application process will take approximately 3 to 4 weeks (subject to the application form being correctly completed and the candidates CV and supporters letters being attached)

Please may we advise you that no payment is required upon applying. Payment details will be provided once an offer of provisional membership is made.

PLEASE NOTE THAT:-

Applications, made under the terms of the Civilian Members Scheme, are subject to agreement by the Membership Committee and consequently the application process may take some time, depending upon the scheduling of the next, appropriate, Membership Committee meeting. Please be assured, however that upon the submission of an application the candidate will be advised, by the Membership Office, in writing of the processing time scale involved.

Please be aware that upon an offer of membership being made you will be advised of your constitutional status under the terms of the Club Rules, since in some cases Associate membership of the Club may be offered.

Should an offer of Associate membership be made, may we clarify that this status does not restrict the member' usage of the Club and its facilities however, there are limitations on their constitutional rights. Associate members are unable to:

a) Stand as Proposer or Seconder to any applicant. An exception is made in the case of an immediate relative.

b) They may not vote on Club matters

c) They may attend the Club annual AGM but may not participate in thevote.
