36-39 PALL MALL, LONDON, SW1Y 5JNRAG Horse Racing Syndicate – Trainer's Open Day Sunday 11 October 2009
Date: 14th October 2009
Details:
A visit to trainer Ben Case’s yard for his Open Day at Edgote near Chipping Warden, Banbury took place on Sunday 11th October.
We all had an excellent day– around 130 or so attended including RAG members – and after a parade of Ben’s horses in the excellent indoor schooling area he has, we were treated to a marvellous lunch washed down with ample quantities of wine to help us on our way!
The 4YO gelding SUMMER AFFAIR (previously discussed) was particularly nice, and of course he had a run on the flat (all-weather) at Kempton only last week and finished a promising 4th place. It is the intention to either run him again in a long distance flat race in the coming weeks, or go straight into hurdling once conditions are ideal for him. Ben is also hopeful that several other of his horses should perform well over the Winter.
We need to find a minimum of 50% of his £25,000 (plus vat) value from new shareholders in order to get the syndicate racing – divided as necessary depending on number of takers and their preferred contribution, so this could be in 5 x 10% or 2 x 25% etc chunks – this needs to be found upfront, then the fixed all-inclusive monthly training and associated fees at the rate of £18000 per year (payable at the rate of £150 per month plus vat per 10% share). I do hope this continues to be of interest.
Ben would be more than delighted to host a private viewing of his horses and facilities, and luncheon, so should any other RAG members who could not attend on Sunday wish to make it on another weekend, do let me know if that idea appeals and I shall be happy to arrange it. Please contact me as per details below.
