The Army & Navy Club has been situated in the centre of St James’s since 1837 and on the present site since 1851. As a traditional establishment for former and serving officers of the British and Commonwealth Armed Services, as well as their immediate families, ‘The Rag’ as it is affectionately known, is perhaps the last full military club in London. Following a rule change the Club has decided to offer a small number of membership places to friends of members who do not otherwise have a direct military connection. The membership consists of approximately 6,000 and comprises both ladies and gentlemen. Reciprocal agreements exist with approximately 100 clubs of similar style and standing throughout the world. Introductions to these clubs are available to Army & Navy Club members through our Membership Office.
The Army & Navy Club is perfectly located for the many attractions London has to offer, from a visit to a famous gallery or museum to a stroll in St James’s Park, a shopping expedition in Regent Street or a night at a West End show. Important locations such as Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, Buckingham Palace and Jermyn and Bond Streets are all within a ten-minute walk, and dozens of other famous places are only a short taxi or tube trip away.
The Club has established many liaisons with local businesses, theatres etc which add value to your membership of the Club. The Club also routinely organises special events for its members.
The Club owns and occupies a modern purpose built building extending to almost 80,000 square feet, on ten floors which includes its own underground garage which offers convenient and secure parking for members’ cars.
With around 90 permanent staff on the premises a very high standard of service is provided for members and their guests. A team of multi-lingual personnel are available to meet your every request.
